About Us

Meet the New Owners!

Born and raised in East Tennessee, both Alan and Natalie graduated from the University of Tennessee. Natalie received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations in 2009. After graduating, she remained with the university, working as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor. She was later promoted to Assistant Director in the Admissions Office, and completed her Master’s of Public Administration in 2013.Knox Urban Guy Alan completed three years of undergraduate courses at UT before being accepted into the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. After one year in Memphis at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, he returned to Knoxville to complete his education, earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2010. He completed a residency at Blount Memorial Hospital, where he now practices as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in both Informatics and Diabetes.

Alan and Natalie both share a love for UT. While Natalie spent her first five years after graduating recruiting future Volunteers, Alan has remained active with the Young Alumni through his passion for craft beer, participating in every Voltoberfest. He has also used the knowledge he has gained while training for Ironman Chattanooga to help organize and lead the Tennessee in Training program since its expansion to Knoxville, helping Vols complete the Knoxville Half Marathon. The two have always had an interest in entrepreneurship and came across the opportunity to franchise while celebrating Alan’s birthday at the downtown location of the Casual Pint. A short time later, they were offered the rights to own the very location where they completed the original application.

The Casual Pint of Downtown offers 22 beers on tap, as well as many drink here singles. Patrons are welcome to bring in food to enjoy with their beer, or simply stop by and have a pint while waiting on a table at one of the many nearby restaurants or while taking a break from visiting the various downtown shops. The Casual Pint also offers growler fills and six-packs to go so you can enjoy your favorite craft beer at home. Alan and Natalie hope to be an integral part of the downtown scene for many years. They are excited to share their love of both craft beer and the city of Knoxville with residents and visitors alike. Great things are coming to the Casual Pint of Downtown!
